I am so grateful to have been introduced to Jess through my close friend Megan.  She joined us at a critical point on our new build in Manhattan Beach as we were making decisions on interior architecture details and hard materials.  It was such a blessing to have her guidance.  She has an impressive background and thorough knowledge of design coupled with an elevated taste level, which made it very easy to love the many ideas she brought forth. 

She helped us soup to nuts from interior inspiration to paint colors, floor planning, custom furniture making, landscape design, you name it.  No task was too small which reflected the passion she has for her craft.  She was full of creative inspiration in the planning process and excelled at execution through a beautiful install and even kept us on budget.  She helped us create our dream home that we are very much in love with, and I will always be indebted to her for that. 

She did it all while being a dream to work with and has become a dear friend.  We had so much fun playing with fabrics, creating “moments” and designing together. I can’t recommend her enough!

Jess was a good listener and observer of what my needs were and communicated these needs clearly with my contractor to bring the vision into reality. We’ve worked with Jess Slater of Studio J Interiors on multiple projects since 2022, and she’s transformed our home in ways we couldn’t have imagined. She offers options at various price points, and if she ever misses my vision (rare, since she’s usually spot-on), she’s quick to rethink it. I can get stuck in decision paralysis, but Jess always guides me to the best choice, leaving me confident and validated. My husband, who’s all about comfort and function, can be a wildcard with opinions—yet Jess prioritizes him, finding compromises that keep the style intact.
Her spatial instincts are unreal; she reworks layouts I’d never envision, making every room work better. Her vendors are professional and reliable, and Jess is there for installs—driving over an hour to ensure every measurement’s perfect. Projects always finish on time, and her hands-on care shines through. We’ll keep choosing Jess for every new space—she’s that amazing.
